The development of KEP seems like an endless horizon. Once one obstacle has been overcome, a new one comes into place. Presentations are right around the corner, and yet they seem a hundred miles away… and the plethora of information on certain issues, how to choose what’s more polarized… and the scarcity of other news. It all seems so very daunting. Luckily, I have a wonderful group who believes in our project enough, to continue with the immensity of work, despite the demands of being full-time students (and the fact that many also have several other extra-curricular activities to worry about).

I decided to google my title “Declaration of Dependence” today, and all the pages that came up turned out to be on America’s Dependence of God. Just for the record, I want to clarify that this blog was NOT formed to maintain that America’s Declaration of Independence was, in fact, a Declaration of Dependence on God. Rather, I chose my title, because in order to join hands in solidarity with others, we must first find some common ground with them. In establishing common ground, we must allow for vast differences in beliefs, cultures, and worldviews, while listening closely to the hopes and visions that transcend those differences. If this is true, then we depend heavily upon each other so that we can move forward in understanding one another and improving society, instead of remaining stagnant in a pond of selfishness, close-mindedness, and temporary lilypads of comfort.
